1. Chunyu Yisheng | China
Chunyu Yisheng is an app that lets users remotely consult with physicians to diagnose their ailments, offering in-app chats and phone calls with real doctors. The startup has raised a series C round of funding from China International Capital Corporation (CICC) and Dunan Holding Group.
2. Preburn | India
Preburn, a Bangalore-based offline app distribution network which has recently been acquired by FreeCharge, one of India’s hottest startups. Preburn helps new smartphone users optimize their devices with useful apps. App publishers use Preburn to quickly grow their user base.
3. XingShuai Teach | China
Founded in 2008, Xingshuai Teach has about 32 courses, most in the areas of graphics, images, video, and design. The curriculum is a combination of interactive video and forum discussions. Xingshuai also has a mobile app so students can learn on the go. The company received a series B round of funding from Northern Light Venture Capital and Legend Capital.
4. Setipe | Indonesia
Setipe claims to be Jakarta’s first serious online dating site that drip-feeds Indonesian users a maximum of one match per day based on their personal preferences and detailed personality profile (engineered by a certified psychologist). The most important part about Setipe is that its profiles are not public, therefore no one else will ever know that users are on the site besides users themselves and the people they’re matched with. The startup has just received a new round of funding from a group of anonymous angel investors.
5. Omise | Thailand
Omise is an online payment system with two products designed for developers, and the other for non-developers. Both promise minimal online identification, no minimum monthly transactions, and lower transaction costs. The first product is a white-label payment API that functions like a Stripe for the emerging markets. The second is a payment app, similar to Square Cash, that allows merchants to accept money via Facebook, Instagram, Line, SMS ,or email. The startup is recently funded by Indonesia and Japan-based fund East Ventures.
6. RuangGuru | Indonesia
Ruangguru is an online marketplace that connects private tutors and students in Indonesia, offering courses on everything ranging from traditional classroom subjects to less-common computer education and sports skills. This week, the startup received seed funding of an undisclosed amount from East Ventures.
