1. Pairs | Japan
Pairs is a Facebook-connected dating service founded by Tokyo-based startup Eureka. The startup has acquired more than one million registered users in Japan and Taiwan. The user milestone comes just over a year and a half after it’s initial launch in October 2012.
2. TripHobo | India
TripHobo is an Indian travel portal which recently secured series A funding from Kalaari Capital. The portal currently has more than 25,500 curated and verified itineraries written by travelers, covering about 10,000 tourist hotspots in 170 cities around the globe. The portal lets you pick a user-generated itinerary and edit it to make it your own.
3. Crowdworks | Japan
Started in March 2012, Crowdworks is a Japanese freelancer marketplace which was almost an instant hit, gobbling up funding rounds worth millions in October 2012 and December 2013.
4. Work.com.mm | Myanmar
Operating since June 2012, Work.com.mm is a jobs portal, and one of the sites under a joint venture between Rocket and telco Ooredo. Besides Work, the Rocket and Ooredo joint venture has other sites in Myanmar like classifieds sites Motors.com.mm and House.com.mm.
5. Viddsee | Singapore
Launched in February 2013, Singapore-based Viddsee is an asian short films portal which has over five million people that watched at least one of the over 500 short films on the site. The startup recently announced that is now branching out into web series.
6. Plaid | Japan
Still in closed beta testing, Japan’s Plaid a real-time web analytics firm which claims to enable online merchants to approach potential customers in much the same way as how a real store manager can observe customers before making contact to entice a sale. The startup recently closed a round of investment.
7. TimeAway | Singapore
