Peak XV Partners, previously Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia, has named Rohit Agarwal as its new managing director for its Singapore office.
The VC firm said Agarwal will focus on early- and growth-stage investments in the region. The exec’s expertise is in fintech, SaaS, consumer goods, and ecommerce investments. He currently sits on the boards of companies such as Insider, Bibit, Tonik, Kopi Kenangan, and Lemonilo.
With the promotion, Agarwal joins Shailendra Singh and Abheek Anand as Peak XV’s managing directors in Singapore.
Agarwal has been with the company since 2015. Before his new role, he served as principal of Peak XV’s investment team.
Sequoia Capital announced the rebranding in June, hoping to avoid potential portfolio-related conflicts. As part of the move, Sequoia Capital kept its name for its US and Europe arm while taking on the name HongShan for its China branch.
