Indonesian daily deals site Evoucher secures pre-series A funding

Indonesian daily deals site Evoucher today announced a round of pre-series A funding from Valuein Technology Indonesia (VITI). The amount is undisclosed. Danny Baskara, the founder and CEO of Evoucher, said the funds will be used to invest in infrastructure and marketing.
Evoucher was established in 2010 and, according to Baskara, has been entirely bootstrapped until this day. He claims that the site has sold a total of 960,000 vouchers and deals, and now processes between 10,000 and 30,000 transactions per month.
The deals market in Indonesia is already fairly crowded, with international sites like Groupon and Ensogo, as well as some other local players vying for their share.
Baskara is optimistic about becoming a leading site in Indonesia’s daily deals and discounts segment. “We are very happy to get this support. The investment in our company will fuel our mission to become the ecommerce provider most in line with the needs of the Indonesian public.”
Evoucher sells deals for things like restaurants, travel, and beauty treatments, as well as discounted household items, gadgets, and clothing from its own online store.
The investing company VITI is originally from South Korea, says Baskara. According to him, the company is a digital content creator in the gaming industry and has been operating in the Asia Pacific region for over 15 years.
Tech in Asia has reached out to Baskara for additional information about VITI.
