IDN Media, a digital media company, has bought Indonesian festival organizer Boss Creator. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The move reflects IDN Media’s efforts to grow its revenue streams across the entertainment and livestreaming sectors – an initiative its CEO, Winston Utomo, shared with Tech in Asia previously. Both entities will still operate independently under their own brands.
Established in 2018, Boss Creator has hosted various festivals such as Pestapora, a major music event, across Indonesia. It has also held programs with partners like Ericsson and Red Bull.
Kiki Ucup, founder of Boss Creator, said the firm plans to work with the IDN Media media team to hold more creative and collaborative events with businesses under the IDN Media ecosystem.
IDN Media currently has gaming platform GGWP, food content and cooking platform Yummy, and beauty and lifestyle-focused platform Popbela, among others, under its umbrella.
Recently, the company acquired Saweria, an Indonesia-based payment platform for creators and livestreamers. IDN Media has been profitable since 2018.
