India’s got a lot of venture capital money flowing around. Looking at today’s investments, it’s safe to say that investors are really starting to think about how to connect people better.
Here’s today’s funding roundup:
Faircent
Peer-to-peer borrowing and lending platform Faircent raised an undisclosed amount of money today from TV Mohandas Pai-led fund Aarin Capital. Pai will join Faircent’s board as advisor. The site lets borrowers post loans online, decide their own interest rates, and reach out to appropriate lenders.
Tripoto
Tripoto has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from 500 Startups, IDG Ventures, and the Advantedge Fund, among others. The list also includes the VP of WhatsApp, Neeraj Arora. Tripoto aggregates photos, travelogs, and travel tips. It currently claims to have over 250,000 itineraries listed.
Bizongo
Online B2B marketplace for raw materials Bizongo raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Accel Partners. The funding will be used to help strengthen its marketplace for plastics, chemical, and packaging businesses to exchange industrial goods. It will also go toward building a mobile app that will manage inventory and provide a live chat interface for customers.
Zify
Ride-sharing app Zify has raised US$190,000 in angel funding. The company was founded by Rathor and Pramod Kumar in 2014 and claims to have over 11,000 registered users on its app. Zify previously raised US$15,400 in May 2014.
