When Rishabh Singhi’s son was two, he developed a severe screen addiction. Other parents reported the same struggle to find engaging, screen-free alternatives. This prompted Singhi to co-found Wippi to provide interactive entertainment without digital displays.
😟 Problem
Children aged four to 10 spend excessive amounts of time consuming passive digital media. Prolonged screen exposure is linked to negative developmental effects. Voice-to-voice AI technology offers a way to engage young audiences without requiring reading skills.
💡 Solution
Wippi offers a screen-free, audio-only device that speaks to children using conversational AI. The platform offers three main capabilities to entertain and educate users, which include:
- Conversations: The AI interacts directly with children to play games, tell jokes, answer questions, and provide emotional support.
- Stories: Immersive narratives feature characters that answer questions and teach moral lessons.
- Radio and sleep: The device includes customized audio channels designed to assist with bedtime routines.

🤝 Team
- Rishabh Singhi. Co-founder. Previously served as COO of hospitality major RedDoorz.
- Siddhartha Jain. Co-founder. Previously product and business operator in consumer tech.
🚀 Traction
- Began commercial device sales in July 2026.
- Sold 105 hardware units during the first month of operations.
🏆 Competition
Smart speakers like Amazon Alexa primarily serve adult users. Wippi differentiates itself through custom hardware designed specifically for children. The startup also deploys a child-friendly AI model prioritizing safe, immersive content and global storytelling.
💰 Financials
The company generates revenue via device sales and recurring AI subscriptions. It recently raised US$1.4 million. 12 Flags led the round, with participation from Warmup Ventures, Ventana Ventures, and Ruvento Ventures.
🚩 Risks
- Wippi’s promise of open-ended conversation, stories, jokes, questions, and emotional support creates a safety challenge, not just a product challenge. A child-facing AI must feel responsive enough to hold attention while staying predictable enough to preserve parent trust. A recent AI-toy risk assessment highlights the same tension around engagement, attachment, inappropriate outputs, privacy, and safety.
-
Wippi’s focus on children aged four to 10 gives the product clarity, but it also narrows the market. Entertainment, education, radio, and sleep can support a useful child device, but may not create a large standalone hardware and subscription business. Smart-speaker usage research shows broader household value comes from many adult daily tasks, from music and weather to timers and smart-home control.
