Cybersquatting has reached a new level of controversy in the Philippines when daily deals site MetroDeal was accused of the practice in an effort to undermine competitors. The founder of MetroDeal, however, has not responded publicly to the allegations. We’re still waiting…
Looks like a number of people in the Philippines’ startup scene were alarmed to find out that there were cybersquatting sites that led to pornography sites. The question is, who owns them: the earlier accused Metrodeal, the domain broker Dwight Callahan, or somebody else?
Vanessa’s pick: IDA blames outage of Singapore government websites on technical issues, denies hackers involved

Willis’ pick: Line app is still growing, brings in $194 million in revenue in Q3
LINE’s revenue is up 48 percent from the previous quarter and that’s crazy. While I’m not sure how much are from games or stickers, my bet is that LINE’s cutesy stickers are selling like hotcakes. Plus, designing these stickers are low cost and would surely bring some very good margins to LINE’s business!
