Apple reshuffles global sales management to refocus on India
US tech giant Apple is overhauling its international sales management team to focus more on India, Bloomberg reported.
As a result, India will become its own sales region for the company.
The development follows Foxconn, a major supplier to Apple, reportedly investing US$700 million to build a new plant in India.
This decision was made following the retirement of Hugues Asseman, who previously served as the vice president for Apple’s business in India, Middle East, Mediterranean, East Europe, and Africa. The role has since been taken up by Ashish Chowdhary, who was the former head of Apple’s India operations.
India is a huge opportunity for the tech giant as revenue from the country saw a year-on-year increase of 45% in its 2022 financial year.
