In our world today, Data is power. It’s also money. Those are two thirds of the triptych of success right there, at least if you subscribe to the gospel of Tony Montana.
Singapore-based Eyeota announced today that it just got a new infusion of power to add to its existing cache. The adtech company has closed a series A round worth US$7 million. This round was led by Japanese venture capital firm Global Brain, which will take a seat on the company’s board. Infinity e.Ventures and Project A Ventures also participated.
Eyeota specializes in ad targeting data, which it provides to marketers who want to know more about the audience they’re aiming at. In turn, that helps advertisers reach people who are more likely to be interested in what they’re peddling, by knowing exactly who to target, when, and where.
The startup says it has 1.5 billion unique data profiles it has gathered from publishers all over the world. It has worked with companies like CACI, Experian, Ipsos, Immobilienscout24, Netsprint, Roy Morgan Research, and Semasio.
Eyeota claims to have raised US$10 million to date, although it’s not clear if that figure includes the series A funding. It currently has offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, London, Melbourne, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
The funds will be put toward growing the company’s international teams, beefing up the technology development team, and expanding to new markets, according to CEO and co-founder Kevin Tan.
