There’s more than one way to do your country proud, and Wargaming’s World of Tanks TanksAsia National Series one of them.
The Singapore leg concluded today with team Project Phantom taking first place, and going home with a cash pot of $1,500 as well as an all-expense paid trip to Taipei. Close in second and third place were teams Insidious Gaming and The Coalition respectively, who took home cash prizes of $1,000 and $500 for themselves.
It’s a generous pot, as Wargaming’s eSports winnings always are; but the prize money isn’t all there is to winning the National Series.
Project Phantom’s win will allow them to skip the 64-team Challenge segment of TanksAsia Season 2 and get seeded directly for the Regular one. Together with the top teams in Australasia – one from each country – Project Phantom will play in the TanksAsia Season 2 finals in Taipei. The exact date of the challenge is still pending. However, it has at least been confirmed that the winner of that challenge will go on to the grand finals at the Taipei Game Show.
Still to come are the TanksAsia National Series for Thailand, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia. More information can be found at TanksAsia.net. Meanwhile, congratulations to Project Phantom from Singapore, and all the best for the other teams!
