Postype, a South Korea-based content creator publishing platform, has raised US$7.6 million in a round led by Sui Generis Partners and joined by Shinhan Venture Investment and We Ventures.

Postype helps creators monetize their work and connect to fans. Artists can publish paywalled content on the platform as well as accept donations and create memberships.
The company said its platform has gained popularity among creators and fans of webtoons – digital comics in a vertical scrolling format – as well as serialized fiction.
Hanjae Kim, CEO and partner at Sui Generis Partners, said Postype currently has about 5 million monthly active users. According to the platform, its creators have made a combined total of over US$54 million in earnings to date.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand Postype Partners, its creator growth and grant program. It also looks to boost creator monetization features and develop new services, including selling merchandise.
