UpBanx, an Indonesia-based fintech startup, launched a generative AI product that helps online creators produce content such as social media posts, video scripts, and blogs.
Called UpThinx, the product is powered by the same AI technology and research underpinning OpenAI’s ChatGPT. But UpBanx has an in-house team that works on customization, interface design, and unique features.
“We have fine-tuned the model to specifically cater to the creator economy,” UpBanx founder and CEO Wafa Taftazani told Tech in Asia recently.
By using templates, creators can save time since they don’t have to type in lengthy and intricate prompts.
UpThinx is currently in its beta phase. Apart from marketing it via online advertising, partnerships, and workshops, the product will be available on a freemium model to allow users to test the platform, Taftazani said.
“We also see huge potential to utilize insights from UpThinx to further enhance UpBanx’s AI-powered credit profiling model,” he added.
Launched in June 2021, UpBanx helps creators, brands, and freelance workers manage their money and acquire financing. In 2022, it raised US$5.2 million in a pre-seed round from Y Combinator and Alpha JWC Ventures, among others.
UpBanx has over 1,000 users to date. It plans to increase that number with the launch of UpThinx, aiming to onboard 100,000 users just for the AI tool within a year.
