Singapore’s Acronis acquires Israeli cybersecurity consultancy firm CyberLynx

Singapore- and Switzerland-based cybersecurity firm Acronis said it has acquired Israeli cybersecurity consultancy firm CyberLynx to widen its portfolio of offerings.

Financial details of the deal, which marks Acronis’ third acquisition in the past year, were kept undisclosed.

Founded in 2017, CyberLynx provides companies with services such as security audits, penetration testing, and proprietary training solutions. It has a global customer presence and has built connections with leading forensic suppliers, according to a statement.

As part of the deal, Acronis will integrate CyberLynx’s solutions into its own product suite. Specifically, Acronis aims to improve the services it offers such as managed service providers (MSPs) and managed security service providers (MSSPs).

“Working with our security team and global network of Cyber Protection Operation Centers, we will assist MSPs as they transition to MSSPs, delivering training in incident response, penetration testing, and forensic analysis,” said Acronis founder and CEO Serguei Beloussov.

The company said it plans to consider additional acquisitions aimed at bolstering its product offerings as it continues its accelerated growth strategy.

Acronis was founded in Singapore in 2003 and incorporated in Switzerland in 2008. It offers its products through 50,000 partners and service providers in over 150 countries.

Earlier this year, Acronis acquired data leak prevention software provider DeviceLock for an undisclosed amount. The company also acquired 5nine Software, a US-headquartered Microsoft cloud services provider, late last year.

In September last year, Acronis said it received US$147 million in an investment round led by investment banking giant Goldman Sachs, a deal that pushed its valuation to over US$1 billion.
