Optus, owned by SingTel, generates around half of its parent company’s revenue, highlighting its significance.

Communications Minister Anika Wells said regulatory changes may follow the probe, and expressed disappointment at Optus’ repeated failures.

In exchange, the telcos received a share of ad revenue generated when consumers used Google Search on these devices.

SingTel’s equity interest in Bharti Airtel is 28.7%, marking a significant financial stake.
