In brief: Swiggy in advanced talks to raise up to $750m, sources say

  • India-based food delivery startup Swiggy is in advanced stages of a potential US$700 million to US$750 million round led by existing investor Naspers, according to a Livemint report that cited two people familiar with the talks.
  • The South African internet giant is set to pour in around US$350 million, while US$50 million will come from Korean investors including STIC Investments and Korea Omega Investment.
  • “A total commitment of US$540 million has come so far,” one of the sources said. If existing or new backers fail to give the remaining funds, Naspers may pump in more into Swiggy, the person added.
