Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg could be TIME’s Person of the Year

steve-jobsIt is a great year for Apple and Facebook. And both CEO Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg respectively, are shortlisted for TIME’s 2010 Person of the Year.

In 2010, Apple’s iPad has been nothing short of revolutionary. Well, at least in terms of sales.

Thanks to Apple’s brilliant marketing and cult brand like status, over 1 million units were sold within one month of its release. Like how the iPhone had disrupted the phone industry back in 2007, the iPad has also greatly threatened the existence of other tablet/eBook competitors.

facebook zuckerbergFor Facebook, 2010 marks its 500th million users. Revenue is predicted to be around the $2 billion region and it’s certainly a profitable business by now.

Oh and of course we have the movie, The Social Network, which debuted just a couple of months ago. The Social Network has somehow casted a negative picture of Zuckerberg but it doesn’t seem to stop the world’s youngest billionaire to be listed on TIME’s shortlist.
