Singapore-based Nium, a cross-border payments provider, has appointed Anupam Pahuja as executive vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.

He will focus on the firm’s expansion within these regions from Nium’s Singapore headquarters, reporting to CEO Prajit Nanu.

Pahuja was formerly the CEO of Vietnamese e-wallet startup ZaloPay.

He also spent over a decade at PayPal, managing the organization’s growth across Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, and Africa. There, Pahuja established and managed multiple technology centers across Asia.

Founded in 2014, Nium provides banks, payment providers, and businesses with access to global payment and card issuance services. The company facilitates transactions across 27 markets, including Southeast Asia, the UK, Australia, and the US.

The development comes a week after Nium filled another executive position, having appointed Volker Steinle as senior vice president and general manager of the Americas.
