Seek Asia appoints ex-MicKinsey exec as chief strategy officer

Australia-based online employment marketplace Seek announced the appointment of Michele Manigart as its chief strategy officer.

Experience:

• Before joining Seek, Manigart was the director of operations for the Asia tech, media, and telecoms team in McKinsey & Company’s Kuala Lumpur office.
• Manigart also headed the Australian unit of food and beverage firm Belovo, which was later acquired by AAK, a consumer firm that provides ingredients including vegetable oils and fats.

• Under her new role, Manigart will be responsible for defining and driving “locally responsive strategic priorities,” while building a team of strategists.
• The development comes amid the company’s plans to stamp out unfair hiring practices in Southeast Asia by establishing fair hiring practices for migrant and manual workers and foreign domestic staff and end pockets of slavery in the region.
