Grab is expanding its coverage of mom and pop shops (locally known as warungs) in Indonesia via a new partnership with local conglomerate Sampoerna.
Through the partnership, Grab and its e-wallet subsidiary Ovo will integrate their services into the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC) app, which is the conglomerate’s warung-focused business.
In a statement, Grab said the integration includes GrabExpress delivery services, digital product services (such as top-up phone credits), and QR offline payments.
SRC said that as of 2022, it has more than 225,000 warungs across Indonesia.

Grab also operates its own small kiosk digitization service called GrabKios in Indonesia. In 2019, the regional tech giant announced a partnership with Indonesian microretail startup Warung Pintar.
The warung business in Indonesia is quite crowded – notable players include the likes of Mitra Bukalapak, GudangAda, Ula, and Mitra Tokopedia.
