XL Sets Up Data Warehousing With Teradata

Indonesia mobile provider XL Axiata has formed a partnership with Teradata Corp. enlisting its support for data warehousing. This cooperation will help XL improve its service, particularly the reporting process and near-real-time operational information needs.

Teradata has a new Active Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platform that can deliver better performance for XL. This will help it compete with other Indonesian telcos, especially in controlling the volume of data and analytic capability.

Mohammed Ali, a senior marketing VP of PT XL Axiata Tbk, explained:

We believe they are key pillars in enabling our revenue growth. Teradata have solutions that will help us achieve both our short-term and long-term goals. Teradata’s products are proven for large enterprises like ours that need to manage massive volume of data to generate mission-critical insights, analysis and reports in a timely manner.

As for Teradata, this cooperation is a significant step for its business expansion.

Competition between telcos in Indonesia is forcing companies to step-up performance. Improving the data warehousing is just one way that XL can serve customers better. Last month the company also upgraded its network and expanded its data services to customers abroad.
