Report: Temasek co-leads $192m round of Indian meat delivery startup
“Fresh meat and seafood e-tailer Licious has raised US$192 million in a series F funding round led by Singapore-based investment firm Temasek and Multiples Private Equity,” Livemint reported.
Details:
- Existing investors 3one4 Capital, Bertelsmann India Investments, Vertex Growth Fund, and Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India also took part in the financing round, along with the Brunei Investment Agency. A few early investors have exited the firm in this round as well.
- The fresh funds will be used for tech-led supply chain transformation, quality improvement, expansion in India and abroad, developing capabilities in existing markets, and fueling its omnichannel presence.
Context:
- As part of this funding round, Multiples Alternate Asset Management has reportedly invested US$32 million, while the Brunei Investment Agency and Vertex Ventures have poured in US$15 million and US$10 million, respectively. This brings the total funds raised by the firm to US$160 million.
- In December 2019, the company raised US$30 million in its series E funding round led by Vertex Growth Fund, a global firm focused on growth-stage startups.
