In February, we wrote about Mr. Ravi Venkatesan’s resignation from Microsoft India.
Today, it was announced that Venkatesan is back in action. This time, he joins Infosys Technologies as a Director of the company with immediate effect. Infosys Technologies has certainly gotten itself a prize asset. As ex-Chairman of Microsoft India, Venkatesan led the front and turned India Microsoft’s second largest market in the world.
N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman & Chief Mentor at Infosys, said, “Ravi Venkatesan is one of the best known leaders of corporate India. He brings enormous value with his vast experience in the software industry.”
The good news is accompanied by some bad news, though. In the same statement, it was also announced that Mr. Mohandas Pai resigned as Infosys’s CFO.
In an interview below, Pai explained that his resignation would allow more leaders to climb up within the company. “We need a new generation of leaders. It’s good for Infosys, good for everyone,” Pai said. His resignation came at a time when Infosys Quarter 4 financial figures were below market estimates.
Infosys is India’s number 2 software services exporters. Rivals Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro have both stepped up hiring, reflecting strong demand from clients, according to WSJ’s Livemint.
