Tencent, Warburg Pincus pour $12m into Indonesian tax management platform
Indonesia’s OnlinePajak, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that helps individuals and businesses calculate and pay their taxes, has raised almost US$12 million in a series C round, according to data from VentureCap Insights.

- VentureCap pegged OnlinePajak’s valuation at around US$179 million.
- Tencent’s and Altos Ventures’ investment vehicles both plunked down almost US$5 million to purchase 16,368 shares each at US$305.47 apiece. Warburg Pincus invested the remaining US$2 million.
- Tencent also bought 29,293 secondary shares from several investors, including Alpha JWC Ventures.
- OnlinePajak and Alpha JWC Ventures declined to comment on the investments when asked by Tech in Asia.
- The SaaS company most recently raised funding in October 2018, securing US$25 million in series B funding from Warburg Pincus, Endeavour Catalyst, Global Innovation Fund. Existing investors Alpha JWC Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Primedge also took part in the round.
