Chinese shooter Crisis 2015 begins closed beta

A year ago, Netease was teasing a brand new shooter with a “globally competitive” game engine that was shooting to shake up the Chinese FPS market. Today that shooter—which is called Crisis 2015—was unleashed on the Middle Kingdom. Sort of.

As always seems to be the case in China, Crisis 2015 is going through what will probably be a seemingly-interminable series of closed beta rounds. To get in on the game at this point, you’ll need a Netease account, an activation number, and the ability to read at least a little Chinese so you can activate and download the game here.

As part of its promotional efforts, Netease also got Chinese pro Counter-Strike player Alex to come in and give the game a brief shot.

It’s likely to be quite a while before anyone outside of China gets to play the game, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take in some of the eye candy:
