The multiyear partnership will help Robinhood strengthen its product management, strategy, and customer experience, as well as push the firm a step further in its super-app ambition. The company is aiming to become an all-in-one platform for travel, shopping, delivery, and ride-hailing in Thailand.
The deal will also allow merchants on the app to increase their visibility through self-service advertising tools, allowing for greater autonomy and better ad inventory management.
Founded in 2020, Robinhood is a unit of SCB 10X, the venture arm of Siam Commercial Bank. According to Robinhood’s CEO, Srihanath Lamsam, the firm currently works with over 200,000 stores and over 30,000 riders. It serves more than 3 million registered users with about 180,000 daily orders.
In 2021, Robinhood announced its super-app ambition with plans to raise new funds and launch non-food services. Last month, the company cemented its bet by partnering with Google Cloud, which would allow the firm to leverage Google’s data cloud infrastructure and mapping experience.
