Mirae Asset to invest $72m in Elon Musk’s SpaceX

South Korea-based Mirae Asset Financial Group is set to invest US$72 million in SpaceX next month, Reuters reported.

The investment will be made through the Seoul-headquartered firm’s affiliates, Mirae Asset Securities and Mirae Asset Capital. The two will invest US$69 million and US$3.5 million, respectively.

In July, Mirae Asset Securities had invested 116 billion won (US$90 million) in Elon Musk’s spacecraft and satellite company.

In October, Mirae Asset was also planning to help fund Elon Musk’s buyout of Twitter by providing 300 billion won (US$234 million).

Currency converted from Korean won to US dollar: US$1 = 1,282 won.
