Indonesia’s Kedai Sayur bags $4m in East Ventures-led round
Indonesia-based Kedai Sayur, a startup that digitizes vegetable hawkers in the country, has raised US$4 million in a round led by East Ventures.
Local firms SMDV, Triputra Group, and Multi Persada also participated in the round.

Kedai Sayur, which translates to vegetable kiosk in Indonesian, works with farmers to bring their products to partner with vegetable hawkers called Mitra Sayur through mobile apps. Hawkers can then pick up their orders at designated drop-off points, reducing the struggle of sourcing competitive produce and shortening the supply chain. Grocers can register as drop-off points.
The nine-month-old startup plans to use the fresh investment to grow its network of partner vegetable hawkers and retailers, bring in more sources and suppliers, and further develop its technology.
“We are delighted to witness the constantly increasing purchase value experienced by all of our Mitra Sayur, and how most of them can even double the amount within the first six months,” said co-founder and CEO Adrian Hernanto.
Since its inception, Kedai Sayur claims to have grown its network of partners by 520% and its gross merchandise volume by 600%.
Earlier this year, it raised US$1.3 million in a seed funding round, which was also led by East Ventures.
