- Japanese robotics startup Gitai has raised about US$4.1 million from Spiral Ventures Japan, DBJ Capital, J-Power, and 500 Startups Japan (now Coral Capital), TechCrunch Japan reported.
- The company will use the new funds for the development of its robots and the launching of a demo model on the International Space Station scheduled for 2020.
- Gitai aims to reduce work costs in space by using “a robot for space work that can be remotely controlled from the ground.”
