Kedai Sayur, which means vegetable kiosk in Indonesian, directly works with farmers and vegetable hawkers for product sourcing and distribution. Its hawkers partners can have access to farmers’ products through its apps and pick them up from the nearest drop-off point, making the long process by which hawkers typically source their products more efficient. Grocers can register as drop-off points.
Partners can also purchase custom delivery vehicles called Si Komo from Kedai Sayur to help with door-to-door sales. The vehicle can be transformed and used for other services, such as delivering packages and selling food.
Since its founding in October 2018, Kedai Sayur claims to have over 2,000 vegetable hawker partners in the Greater Jakarta region, with 80% actively selling its products. The startup said its gross merchandise value has grown fivefold in the last four months.
