US-based Stacked, a blockchain-powered livestreaming platform, has raised US$12.9 million in a series A funding round led by Pantera Capital.

Founded in March last year, Stacked allows users to stream gaming content and interact with their fans, similar to Twitch. Users are rewarded with a token based on various performance metrics and will also be able to monetize their content using tokenized assets in the future.
Currently, the company’s initial user base is still in the US, but it plans to expand to the Latin America, India, and Southeast Asia markets soon. Recently, the firm also launched Valhalla, a non-fungible token (NFT) collection for gaming and streetwear enthusiasts.
Stacked was established by angel investor and serial entrepreneur Alex Lin, who also founded mobile gaming company LVL6 and social shopping app Hush.
The company plans to use the fresh funding for marketing, content acquisition, and hiring purposes.
Other investors in the funding round include:
- Alexandr Wang, founder of Scale AI
- Eddy Lu, chief executive of Goat Group
- Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus and chief executive of Nothing
