Indonesian uses Twitter as WikiLeaks

@Benny_Israel tweeted last Thursday that he knows the dark secrets of Indonesia and wishes to share it with the world. His bold tweet was accompanied with a disclaimer that seeks correction if any information is revealed incorrectly.

So far, Benny has revealed that he knows a number of U.S based companies, which committed bribery and avoided tax responsibilities in Indonesia. He also claimed to have information on the “ongoing saga involving Gayus Tambunan, aping the rogue tax official’s claims that his French Guyana passport was supplied by the CIA”.

Benny often uses initials to name an official in his tweet. There is even an initial list to ensure readers know whom he is referring to. Perhaps, Twitter’s 140 characters constraint has proven to be a challenge. Benny’s “intelligence” information requires more characters to communicate.

There isn’t any evidence to back Benny’s claims, but his controversial tweets are becoming a form of entertainment to his 13,000 followers. A follower identified as @adewia_77 tweeted: “@benny_israel wow you are popular on Twitter. It makes housewives like myself happy, I get more reading material and more knowledge.”

Interestingly, Benny didn’t need to go through WikiLeaks. Twitter seems to work just fine.
