Indian travel platform Ixigo files for IPO to raise $215m
“Travel-booking app Ixigo is looking to raise 7.50 billion rupees (US$101 million) through a primary fundraise and 8.5 billion rupees (US$114.4 million) via an offer for sale (OFS) from existing investors as part of its initial public offering, according to the company’s draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) filed with the capital markets regulator,” reported The Economic Times.
Details:
- Ixigo is currently valued at US$850 million, sources told The Economic Times.
- Co-founders Rajnish Kumar and Aloke Bajpai will also sell their shares through the public offering, according to a filing.
Dive deeper:
- Ixigo’s parent company Le Travenues Technology recently converted the travel-booking firm from a private limited to a public limited company as part of its listing plans, as Indian laws do not allow private companies to have public shareholders.
- The company acquired bus-ticketing startup AbhiBus last week and bought train-booking app Confirmtkt in February.
