India’s got a lot of venture capital money flowing in. Which are the most interesting startups that got funded today? I say: ad-tech, ad-tech, and more ad-tech.
Here’s today’s funding roundup:
Eywa Media
Eywa Media has raised a seed round of US$1 million from Ah! Ventures, private equity fund Viktor Koenig, and Mantra Ventures. Eywa Media measures consumer response and engagement across multiple screens in order to connect different types of advertisements.
EasyFix
“Uber for repair and maintenance services” startup EasyFix has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Axilor Ventures. The startup, founded by Shaifali Agarwal Holani, allows customers to connect with repair and maintenance workers on demand.
Wydr
Wydr, a wholestale store aggregator raised an undisclosed amount of funding from angel investor and founder of ShopClues and Droom, Sandeep Aggarwal. Founded by Devesh Rai, Wydr essentially takes the informal wholesale distribution segment of India and organizes it on an ecommerce platform.
Indifi Technologies
Indifi Technologies has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in a round led by Accel Partners and Elevar Equity. Other investors are Rajan Anandan, vice president and managing director of Google Southeast Asia and India, and Pramod Bhasin, founder and CEO of Genpact. Indifi helps small and medium-sized businesses get loans by analyzing their internal data and presenting them to financial institutions. It’s started by Alok Mittal, co-founder of the Indian Angel Network.
Muvizz
Movie-on-demand site Muvizz has raised US$350,000 from angel investors Ashish Todi, MD at Frost Global Pte Ltd, Abhinav Patodia, director at Great Himalayan Shippers Ltd, and Kumar Shwetabh, CEO at Pacific Global Inc. Unlike its competitors, the pay-per-view website will stay away from mainstream movies and instead showcase those that focus on social issues, explains co-founder Abhayanand Singh.
