Our expression after the redesign site was launched.
Hello TIA Community! Noticed something new lately? We’re excited to unveil a whole new look and experience on Tech in Asia. Some highlights:
- Powered by modern web technologies: We have rebuilt Tech in Asia using modern and popular web technologies, such as Facebook’s React framework, to provide a speedier and more fluid user experience.
-
Infinite scrolling: We’ve implemented infinite scrolling on both our home feed and article pages to allow easier content discovery. In our usability tests, we’ve learnt that clicking makes people think and creates unnecessary friction. Scrolling doesn’t.
-
No more sidebar: We’ve removed sidebar content, so that you can better focus on reading, distraction-free.
-
Clearer content creation process: For community members, we have implemented a clearer process to submit community posts. You can now see the progress of your post by checking the “My Contributions” section in your personal profile.

Tech in Asia + Techlist = Tech in Asia: We’ve also integrated our sister platform, Techlist (now defunct), into Tech in Asia. Integrating both sites allows users to find everything they need on one single platform, rather than across two separate platforms. All visits to Techlist will now be redirected to Tech in Asia.
-
Better commenting tools: Commenting becomes more fun and effective with additional options to format and add images.
The new features we’ve highlighted today are just the tip of the iceberg.
These changes were born from months of research to understand our users’ needs, through numerous interviews and usability tests. Most of the changes implemented today address the pain points highlighted by our users while using the old site.
The new Tech in Asia is far from perfect, and we will constantly be iterating to make sure that it keeps improving. Of course, all these wouldn’t be a reality without our engineers and designer: Special thanks to Alvin, Ben, Hong Wei, Joshua, Kwong How, Lester, Li Soon, and Melvin. 🙂
Upcoming features
The new features we’ve highlighted today are just the tip of the iceberg of what we have in store for you in 2016. Articles shown both on home and article pages are now presented in chronological order, but we will be experimenting with ways to serve you content we think you would want to read. We’re also working to allow you to add and edit your company information, while making it easier to contribute to our community posts in our upcoming releases.

If you have bug reports, questions or just wanna say hello, leave a note in the comments!
