Rising startups on Tech In Asia: clean meat, quantum tech, and more

Which are the startups that are on the path to becoming the next big thing? In this regular post, we give you an overview of the companies that have raised money in the past week, as well as those we think investors should look at.

1. Shiok Meats (Singapore)

Clean-meat company Shiok Meats, which aims to make lab-grown seafood meat, raised US$4.6 million in seed funding. Henry Soesanto, CEO of noodle and biscuit maker Monde Nissin, led the funding round. More info.

2. Bykea (Pakistan)

Ride-sharing startup Bykea raised US$5.7 million in a series A funding round. The funds were provided by investors from Southeast Asia and the Middle East, as well as by Sarmayacar, Pakistan’s first venture capital fund. More info.

3. SpeQtral (Singapore)

Quantum computing company SpeQtral a US$1.9 million seed round led by Space Capital with participation from Space Angels, Shasta Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, and SGInnovate. More info.

4. TripLogic (Indonesia)

TripLogic, an on-demand logistics startup in Indonesia, raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from East Ventures. The fresh funds will be used for further product development. The startup is aiming to build space-based quantum communication systems. More info.

5. Choco CRM (Thailand)

Choco CRM, a provider of customer relationship management services, raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Krungsri Finnovate. The funding will enable Choco to access more financial services. More info.

6. Lubna (Indonesia)

Lubna, a robot-trading platform, raised seed funding from East Ventures. The funding, which was for an undisclosed amount, will be used for team and product development, as well as the launch of services for other financial assets. More info.

7. iflix (Malaysia)

Iflix secured an undisclosed amount of investment from Indonesian media company MNC. The two companies have formed a strategic partnership, the terms of which include iFlix acquiring 10,000 hours of content from MNC. More info.

8. Atomionics (Singapore)

Atomionics is creating quantum-based sensing systems for underwater and underground navigation. The company is currently building its team, looking for a atomic physicist, electronics engineer, and/or mechanical engineer to come on board. More info.

9. S-Fifteen Instruments (Singapore)

S-Fifteen Instruments aims to commercialize proprietary quantum control instruments. It had its start in Singapore’s Centre for Quantum Technologies and is growing its team. More info.

10. Horizon Quantum Computing (Singapore)

Horizon Quantum Computing is building a new generation of tools for making quantum computing software, aiming to simplify and speed up the development process. More info.

11. Entropica Labs (Singapore)

Entropica Labs, which also took root at Singapore’s Centre for Quantum Technologies, aims to develop quantum algorithms and software for the study of genomics. More info.
