Tracing food along the supply chain is vital in keeping produce safe for consumption and making sure that most of it gets to consumers’ tables. Producers are also spending big on making the process more transparent, with the global traceability market expected to grow to US$26.1 billion in 2025 from just US$16.8 billion three years ago.
Koltiva is one of the Indonesian companies helping producers trace movements from farmers to end users. The agritech firm also offers clients a range of other services, including producer profiling and plot mapping, climate-smart farm support, risk alerts, as well as training and guidance from industry experts.
To help expand its services further, the company has raised an undisclosed sum of investments in an AC Ventures-led round. Koltiva is also creating products designed to aid in assessing greenhouse gas emissions.

Koltiva targets large and multinational companies, helping them trace their food supply from small producers in Indonesia and other countries.
The company believes that its significance grows due to stringent regulations like the European Union’s new deforestation regulation – effective June 29 – which requires companies to prove that their products aren’t linked to deforestation.
“By providing comprehensive seed-to-table traceability, we empower corporations to wisely navigate the dynamic landscape of evolving regulations and sustainable practice compliance while enhancing smallholder producers’ livelihoods,” said Manfred Borer, CEO and co-founder of Koltiva.
According to its website, the company operates in 52 countries, serving around 40,000 monthly active producers and business users. Since its founding in 2013, Koltiva has registered over 1 million producers.
It last raised funds last year, when it closed an undisclosed round from several investors including Silverstrand Capital and The Meloy Fund – who are all back to support the firm.
