In brief: Livestreaming platform Bigo will invest $100m for India expansion
Singapore-based Bigo Technology announced that it will be opening up regional centers in three other major regions in the world before the end of 2019, starting with India. The US$100 million investment into India is significant as Bigo is the “first Singapore internet company to step into the global arena and to take significant leaps to be a leader in the industry.”

Bigo said its expansion will create 1,000 jobs in India, in addition to “cross-country learning opportunities.”
The move will also bring Bigo’s total global footprint to 20 regional offices and four regional centers by the end of 2019.
