7 of my favorite co-working spaces in Bangalore, India’s startup capital

Bangalore is the startup capital of India. Whether you’re a remote worker, moving your team to the city, or just want to work while taking in the sights for a few days, it’s easy to find a place with the right amenities. Of the many official and unofficial places to work in the city, there are a few that stand out.

BHiVE Workspace

Probably the biggest set of co-working spaces in the city, BHiVE has three locations across Bangalore: Lively Indiranagar, scenic Koramangala, and up and coming HSR layout.

Prices vary between coworking spaces. My favorite is Indiranagar for the Steve Jobs quotes on the walls and the awesome roof. Here, you can work for INR300 (US$4.50) per day (with a student discount for INR250 (US$3.80)). Monthly passes come in three forms. Flex memberships are perfect for those who conduct a lot of meetings and just want to pop into BHiVE here and there and are INR3,000 (US$45) per month for 12 days. Regular membership without dedicated desks are 5400 for weekday usage and INR6,000 (US$90) for full week access. Designated desk plans come with a free locker and are INR7,200 (US$108) per month.

You can also rent out dedicated rooms with 12 seats starting at INR72,000 (US$1,090) a month. Prices include coffee and tea. Both HSR and Indiranagar are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, whereas Koramangala is open 8AM-10PM on all 7 days of the week.

Lockers are also available for INR600 (US$9.00) per month or INR60 (US$.90) per day.

CoWorkIndia

CoWorkIndia has three locations in HSR Layout. With companies like Myntra building offices in the area, the neighborhood is Bangalore’s newest business hub. At CoWorkIndia, monthly passes are INR3,850 (US$60) a month. There is a waiting list to get a seat, and most conference rooms include attached bathrooms.

The space has an attached cafeteria and, for those of us conscious about our health, boasts “ergonomic chairs”.
