Chinese Plants vs Zombies storybooks to get accompanying AR app this year

Plants vs Zombies (PVZ) is so big in China that they actually have storybooks for children there. Yes, sunflower plushies and animated movies aren’t enough. They also have storybooks.

There are about 30 of these story, comic, and pop-up books, and together with the China’s Children’s Press and Publication Group, PopCap China has sold a lot of these books, apparently over ten million. And you know what? It still isn’t satisfied.

The Shanghai-based company is now developing an accompanying Augmented Reality app for four of the existing books – and you can be sure it’s going to sell a whole lot more books, especially since it’s going to be free.
