DrukRide offers local and international travelers bus-booking services through its website and mobile app. With the partnership, Meal Temple will deploy its operations in Bhutan through DrukFood.com, which would become the first food delivery platform in the country, according to a statement.
Albeit a small market, Bhutan is totally untapped, with local customers increasingly looking to online services, Meal Temple said.
Starting in the capital Thimpu, Meal Temple’s team in Bhutan is already working with more than 80 restaurants to offer their meals. The service will also leverage DrukRide’s network of drivers from its ride-hailing service MyDrukRide.
The move follows Meal Temple’s expansion into Laos and Myanmar in the last 12 months.
The company said it plans to offer new services and continue to expand through other strategic tie-ups and investments throughout the region in a bid to become a super app.
