“The bear market is the perfect time to build and deliver value to our community,” Crypto.com COO Eric Anziani said in a LinkedIn post.
Founded in 2016, Crypto.com offers an exchange platform, e-wallet, and other services. In March last year, it launched a US$200 million fund called Crypto.com Capital to invest in early-stage crypto startups. In January, the fund appointed tech journalist Jon Russell as its partner.
Earlier this year, Crypto.com said that it would let go of around 260 employees or 5% of its workforce to stay on track with its profitability goals and “ensure continued and sustainable growth for the long term.”
Meanwhile, Crypto.com competitor Coinbase has over 103 million verified users from more than 100 countries, according to its website. Another competitor, Binance, boasts 120 million registered users with US$76 billion in 24-hour trading volume.
