Twitter confirms upcoming office in Indonesia

twitter-in-indonesia

Indonesia is an attractive emerging market for many tech companies due to the large number of young consumers and the slowly expanding middle class. Along with its good internet penetration, Indonesia could become an important technology market in the future. Following Facebook’s and Apple’s moves to open representative offices in Indonesia, Twitter revealed today that it also plans to do just that.

As reported by WSJ (via The Next Web), Twitter plans to set up an office in Indonesia within the next six months. This report was strengthened by a tweet sent this morning by Adam Bain, global president for revenue and partnerships of Twitter, who wrote:

See: Twitter has close to 20 million active users in Indonesia

Twitter’s move to open an office in the country arguably makes sense, as Indonesia has already established itself as a strong market for social media, which leaves a lot of scope for brands to reach consumers via these channels.

This social country has 20 million active Twitter users and 69 million active Facebook users.
