Online talent and skills marketplace Zolo has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Hitouch, a Switzerland-based software company.

The funding marks Hitouch’s first investment, the companies said in a statement. Oliver Westphal, CEO of Hitouch, is on Zolo’s board.

Zolo aims to take care of all of the logistics involved in finding talent for a gig, freeing up employers to focus on the hiree. It targets small businesses.

“We’re also launching dedicated platforms like Zolo Homes, Zolo Skills, Zolo Rentals, Zolo Academy, Zolo Lounges, and Zolo Eat to build a holistic environment with space, technology and marketing for solo entrepreneurs to build a business on their core competencies and leave the rest to us,” said co-founder and CEO Satayu Basu in a statement.

Founded last year by Satayu and Manish Tahillani, Zolo claims to make around 10 to 20 percent from vendors on each sale made through the site.

Notion claims to have published over 2,000 authors and says it sells books in over 100 countries. It will launch its US operations next month and seeks to launch in three other countries by the end of this year.
