LiveShare Partners With Elasitas, Enters Indonesia

Cooliris, the U.S-based company behind the real-time photo sharing app LiveShare, has partnered with Elasitas to bring the product to Indonesia.

LiveShare is a photo sharing app that can be used for everything from day-to-day photo sharing to digital branding campaigns. There are already some big-name users on LiveShare, such as Paris Hilton and ESPN STAR Sports. The LiveShare photo app was also put to good use at the recent Singapore National Day event, where users shared their photos on a collective online photo board.

Entering the Indonesian market is a whole new ball game for Cooliris. But Asia Pacific (APAC) head, Derek Tan, is surely in good hands with this Elasitas deal.

Elasitas is known for building and marketing great mobile apps in the Southeast Asia region. It is among the first in Indonesia to have apps which are integrated with BlackBerry’s BBM6. It has also recently launched Menoo, a gorgeous-looking food app which mashes location, social, and NFC technology into one, with 260,000 restaurants, cafes and other venues within the app – a whopping two million menus in total.

Calvin Kizana, CEO of Elasitas Technologies, explains:

We decided to partner up with Cooliris because we believe Indonesians will benefit from this application immensely. Indonesia has one of the top market shares when it comes to social network usage, and LiveShare will make socializing that much more personal and fun.”

Derek Tan told me over the phone that they are excited to work with Elasitas because of its extensive network with brands in Indonesia. He explained that Elasitas works closely with brands, and LiveShare can be a platform for their clients to engage with consumers through digital photo sharing. Unfortunately, there will not be any Indonesian-language version of LiveShare, not yet at least. Derek explains that the LiveShare app is very visual and intuitive to use by its very nature, but didn’t rule out the possibility of having a localized app for Indonesians if things go really well.

I also learned that Cooliris is working with telcos in Philippines and Thailand to bring LiveShare to more users. We can expect more exciting updates soon. Way to go, Cooliris.
