Indonesian P2P Courier Bistip Adds Insurance, Gets Facelift

Bistip

Good news for travellers and courier service users from Bistip.com. This clever peer-to-peer courier service has announced some new improvements on its service, including a new web design, insurance for lost items, and traveler’s item offerings.

In our interview with Bistip developer Panggi Libersa, we learned how Bistip was becoming popular among Indonesian travellers as well as individuals in search of items from abroad. Now there is a more sophisticated interface to make it easier for site visitors to understand how the system works.

There is now also an insurance service to minimize user risk. Starting from IDR5000 (US$0.6) or a customized negotiable amount, users can make claims for lost items. The insurance premium payment can be done over PayPal, making the transaction pretty easy.

If you are an active traveller and would earn extra cash from your trip, you can offer some items that you could bring back by advertising on Bistip. Just explain your offering and users can contact you if they’d like to buy. It’s a win-win situation for both the user and the traveller.

So far this start-up has been very useful for Indonesians who love to get items or souvenirs. It can be anything from traditional food to an iPad — buyers will always save a lot of money thanks to one helpful traveler. Check the demo video below which explains the service in a fun Go-Animate cartoon.
