If you’ve made plans to attend The International 2014 this August, you may have to reschedule. If information from OnGamers.net is accurate, Valve was unable to secure a venue for the The International 2014 (TI4) in August, and the tournament will instead be held in July. The exact dates and locations have not been finalized yet, but OnGamers’s sources also say that TI4 will still be in Seattle, but moved from Benaroya Hall to the Key Arena, which has a capacity of 15,000 to 17,000.
While no Asian tournaments have officially been announced that might overlap with the new TI4 timing, holding TI4 in July could cause some problems for Western tournaments such as E-Sports League (ESL) One, Dreamleague Finals, and Major League Gaming (MLG)’s event in Anaheim.
Should TI4 be officially moved to July, the proximity of big tournament schedules may stress out and affect the performance of players and may make travelling difficult as well. It could even potentially affect what teams can attend the tournament.
