Google to launch Campus Seoul, its first hub for startups in East Asia

uber india

Startups in South Korea will soon have another ultra-hip hangout spot. Google announced today that it will open Campus Seoul, a space for entrepreneurs, developers, and other members of the startup community to mingle and hold events.

According to a post on Google’s Asia Pacific blog, the space will hold programs including Campus for Moms, a startup school for women with babies, and Campus EDU, which offers workshops and office hours with Google employees.

“We are excited to continue to collaborate with great organizations locally and internationally to further the new economic future of Korea, surely to be lead by great entrepreneurs!” writes Google’s Bridgette Beam in the post. “Google began as a startup in garage, so supporting startups is part of our DNA. Our hope is that Campus Seoul will supercharge tech entrepreneurs, strengthen the startup ecosystem and encourage even more innovation in Korea.”

Set to officially open its doors next year, Campus Seoul will mark Google’s first Campus location in East Asia. The search giant has also set up Campus spots in Tel Aviv and London, and will soon cut the ribbon for locations in Warsaw and Sao Paolo. If you’re looking for Google Campus to come to your neighborhood, now’s probably a good time to start lobbying.
