Founded in 2003, Vulcan Capital backs both private and public companies with a long-term investment horizon. The returns it generates go towards globally focused philantrophic efforts, according to a statement.
Vulcan Capital Singapore, which will be led by managing directors Tommy Teo and Minjie Yu, will focus on seed, series A, and series B investments.
Teo served as executive director for Singapore-based private equity firm Northstar Group prior to his appointment at Vulcan Capital Singapore. He is also a board member of both ERA Singapore and Nera Telecommunications.
Yu, on the other hand, most recently served as a partner for venture capital and private equity company Ethos Partners. Yu also served as director of M&A for Hi-P International, a global manufacturer in the telecommunications, lifestyle, computing, and automotive industries.
Vulcan Capital is headquartered in Seattle, with an office in Palo Alto.
