In brief: Vietnam’s Vingroup buys e-wallet platform MonPay
- Vietnam’s VinID Joint Stock Company, 80% owned by conglomerate Vingroup, said it has completed the acquisition of e-wallet platform MonPay for an undisclosed amount, VnExpress reports.
- According to the report, VinID was started in July 2018 as a customer care program of Vingroup for customers using the company’s products and services.
- MonPay operates in a crowded market that has many competing applications.
